What does Vidal like to do?

I imagine that my favorite activity my classmates “will not discover”: The activity that I love to do is… to write! Yes, I love very much to write a short-story, to write a poem, to write an essay. I have been writing poems since I was 14 years old (now, I am 27!). I have won some prizes with my poems – the last contest that I won a special mention was last month, October 2005. However, how is my process of writing? I teel you now.

I could say that I have a “exotic” preparation, like to drink a Medoc before I begin to write an erotic poem or listen to any music of Tchaikovisky or Villa-Lobos which inspires me. But I will create a myth. I only begin to write any text when I have a insight. And I do not need a special thing to help me, except a paper and a pen (or a computer). Usually I do not have a special place to write my poems or short stories: Everywhere is a good place to write when a I want. But, If you want to know where my favorite place to write a poem is, I will say that is by the shores of Una River, in my hometown. It is wondeful to drink a “warmep-up brandy” and write a poem on the shore of Una River during the winter’s crepuscule.

The time of day that is best for me to write is at night. I like to write at night because I may listen to my soul and my ideas in the silence of darkness. In the afternoon I prefer to “correct my proofs”. I do not know how often I am successful in writing because literary production is a lonely job with subjective result: How will I know that my masterpiece of yesterday will be the trash of tomorrow? And, usually, I do not have a feedback from of my public. Well, saying this, I answer that I prefer to write alone. So, it is hard that anyone writes a text with other people around.

Finally, to see my text printed or a bare praise is sufficient to make me feel good, it is sufficient that I have been successful in my activity. But, If I were to win the Nobel’s Literature Prize, would be also famous and glorious and, naturally, I would make much money with my books, I wouldo feel better!
